CFEF Trustee Establishes Endowment In Honor of Malala Yousafzai

Long-term supporter and current trustee, Ed Station, recently made a $20,000 endowment to Cy-Fair Educational Foundation in honor of Malala Yousafzai. The endowment will be used to help female students in the Cy-Fair ISD further their education. Ed lives in League City, but supports the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation because of the many hard-working people who care passionately about education for children who make up the school district.

Station was moved by the 15-year-old, Pakistani school-girl’s advocacy efforts for female education and wanted to do something locally in her honor. Malala, who has been fighting for the right for her peers to receive an education since she was just 11 years old, was gunned down in October 2012 by the Taliban on her way home from school near the Afghan border.
