CFISD Student of the Week

Jersey Village High School senior Joseph Luongstays involved in a number of extracurricular activities while putting a premium on academic success. Luong, who will study engineering at Texas A&M University in the fall, was recently voted “Most Popular” by his peers for the senior class of 2013.

Grade: 12

Accomplishments: Voted “Most Popular” in Senior Class of 2013; elected to and runs Interact Club at JVHS; accepted into engineering school at Texas A&M; successfully learned a front hand spring.

Favorite class: Spanish 6. “There is so much culture and literature to learn. I come into class every day with much excitement to speak and interact with the other classmates.”

Favorite thing to do after class: Attend club meetings after school; hang out with friends.

Favorite song: “Pyramids” by Frank Ocean

Favorite website: Google. “It’s the best site for research. There is so much to be answered and endless questions to ask.”

Favorite TV show: X Factor. “There are so many inspiring stories and so much talent among the contestants.”

Favorite Movie: My Sister’s Keeper. “It made me cry in so many ways I did not know I could.”

Ambition: “I am very ambitious because I want to succeed as much as possible so that I can provide enough support for myself, my parents, and eventually my own family. I really hate to give up because with much hard work and dedication, almost anything can be achieved.”

What topics/things are you passionate about? “I am really passionate about my faith. I believe that it is great to believe in something that motivates you to benefit society in as many ways as possible. I attend mass every Sunday with my family.”

What inspires you? “My parents push me to always give 110%! They serve as role models through their hard work, dedication and endurance.”

What three things can’t you live without? Music, water/delicious food and loved ones. (“In no particular order.”)
