CFISD Student of the Week: Thanh-Nhu Tran Bui

Hamilton Elementary School fifth-grade student Thanh-Nhu Tran Bui served as captain for Hamilton’s Name That Book team, which won its second consecutive Name That Book championship on March 5th at the Berry Center.

Grade: 5

Accomplishments: Name That Book grade-level winner (3rd grade); Name That Book district champion, 2012 and 2013; Student Council/class representative (5th grade); participated in Horizon Showcase (2nd, 4th and 5th grade); participated in Technology Fair (5th grade); participated in Fit Girls program (5th grade); participated in 5K runs to benefit cancer patients (2nd and 5th grade); Gifted/Talented program (1st-5th grade); straight-A student (1st-5th grade); member of Spring Cypress swim team (2010-present); participated in Piano CCMTA Young Artist Competition (2008-present), placing first or second every year; participated in Guild Audition (2007-present), receiving Superior Plus rating every year; and performed piano pieces at community center for elderly (Thanksgiving 2012).

Favorite class: Language arts. “I Love language arts because I love reading and writing.”

Favorite thing to do after class: Write, design websites, read and watch TV.

Favorite song: “Arms” by Christina Perri

Favorite website: “I like it because I created it, and it’s about Harry Potter.”

Favorite TV show: Cake Boss. “I enjoy seeing the final result, the completed cake.”

Favorite Movie: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. “I like it because I like the book version.

Ambition: “I want to become a zoo owner because I love animals and I want to own as many as possible.”

What topics/things are you passionate about? Harry Potter, animals and animal rights.

What inspires you? Nature, Harry Potter and animals.

What three things can’t you live without? Food, water, and oxygen.
