Cy-Fair, TX (December 14,2015) Thornton Middle School seventh-grade student Brenda Ventura, an active member of the school’s Soccer Start team in her sixth-grade year, also loves singing with the school choir. Ventura also makes a mean menudo and brownies in the kitchen, where she enjoys cooking after school. She hopes to be a lawyer one day.

Favorite class: Math. “It is universal and I find it very easy.”
Favorite things to do after class: “I enjoy playing with my nephews and being in the kitchen. My favorite things to make are menudo and brownies.”
Favorite song: “Something Better” by Audien.
Favorite website: Netflix. “It helps me entertain my nephews when I am babysitting.”
Favorite TV show: Teen Wolf. “It is fictional with intriguing details.
Favorite movie: The View from the Top. “The movie depicts that if you put effort into life that your dreams can come true.”
Ambition: “I want to become a lawyer so I can defend the rights of others.”
What topics/things are you passionate about? “I want to help move my family into a better place. I want to help support them so that they don’t have to worry about everyday life.”
What inspires you? “My sister, Jacqueline, inspires me by not worrying about the little things and being mindful of others.”
What three things can’t you live without? My family, my education and my faith.
