Cy-Fair Area Students Win College Scholarships from Comcast

Two Cy-Fair ISD students received $1,000 scholarships as part of Comcast’s Leaders and Achievers program, which provides scholarships to students who strive to achieve their potential, are catalysts for positive change in their communities, demonstrate involvement in their schools, and who serve as models for their fellow students. A total of $52,000 in scholarship funding was awarded to 50 Houston-area high school students.

Among the winners was Gary Tesch, a graduate of Cypress Woods High School. He plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania.

Derrick Wilson from Jersey Village High School was also a recipient. Wilson will attend University of Texas at San Antonio next Fall..
