Linda Macias, the assistant superintendent for elementary instruction, was named the new associate superintendent for curriculum and instruction and accountability.
Macias has 20 years of experience in education. She began her career teaching six years as a bilingual teacher in HISD and Yeager Elementary School in Cy-Fair ISD. She then served five years as Cy-Fair ISD’s bilingual/ESL coordinator, followed by three years as the director for curriculum and instruction for special populations. Macias has spent the last six years as the assistant superintendent for elementary instruction.
She received her Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University and her Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University, where she also earned her mid-management certification. She also earned superintendent certification from Stephen F. Austin State University. Macias received her Doctorate in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston in 2011.
“I am very excited to be working with the elementary and secondary curriculum and campus teams to meet the instructional needs of all our Cy-Fair students,” Macias says of her new position.
