Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week: Amatu Bannister

Langham Creek High School senior Amatu Bannister was named Lobo of the Month in September. An aspiring nurse anesthetist, Bannister has won both dance and French academic awards during her time at Langham Creek.

Accomplishments: Dance academic award, French academic award, Lobo of the Month – September 2012.

Favorite class: Anatomy. “I love learning about the human body. Also, the class gives me a head start on my nursing career.”

Favorite thing to do after class: “I like to walk and talk with my friends in the hallways, and also crack jokes to make them laugh.”

Favorite song: “Who Let The Dogs Out?” by the Baha Men

Favorite website: Shmoop. “It helps me understand all the books I read in English.”

Favorite TV show:Adventure Time. “The characters are very outgoing just like my personality, and the major part is that it makes me laugh.”

Favorite Movie: Tangled. “The way that Rapunzel and Ryder act in the movie just cracks me up.”

Ambition: “I want to be a nurse anesthetist, because I would like to help patients manage their pain and help them live healthier lives. I also want to make my mother proud by being successful.”

What topics/things are you passionate about? Reduction of gun violence, school, and listening to music.

What inspires you? My mother!

What three things can’t you live without? Oxygen, my mother and my phone.
