Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week: Jared Reese

Cypress Ridge High School senior Jared Reese won first place for the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR) Enhanced Junior ROTC award during the NSSAR National Youth Luncheon ceremony this summer, after previously receiving the Texas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (TXSSAR) Enhanced Junior ROTC award.

 Age: 17

 Grade: 12

 Accomplishments: Recognized as the Outstanding Cadet by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution; Outstanding Junior of the Year at Cypress Ridge High School, 2011-12; TXSSAR Enhanced JROTC Award/Scholarship winner; Cy-Fair ISD Outstanding Achievement Award; Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department junior member.

 Favorite class: JROTC. “It teaches determination, dedication, leadership, integrity and enthusiasm – characteristics that benefit everyone and can be applied to anything in life.”

 Favorite thing to do after class: Drill practice, practicing skills and making calls at the fire station, spending time with family and friends.

 Favorite song: “I Will Wait” by Mumford & Sons

 Favorite website: Dictionary.com. “It has saved my life many of times while writing an English paper or just playing Scrabble.”

 Favorite TV show: Person of Interest. “The good guy always wins and triumphs over the bad guy.”

 Favorite Movie: Harvey with Jimmy Stewart, “because it’s funny and clever with great acting. It’s a classic.”

 Ambition: “I want to become the President of the United States of America. I want to make a difference in the world for the betterment of mankind.”
