Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week: Luis Olivares Jr.

Cypress Springs High School junior Luis Adrian Olivares Jr. competed in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London in the sport of Taekwondo.

Grade: 11

Accomplishments: Qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London in Taekwondo. Qualified for an international fight in South Korea.

Favorite class:  AFJROTC. “It teaches me leadership and how to become a respectful person.”

Favorite thing to do after class: “I enjoy training a lot with Team USA so I can become the best fighter I can be.”

Favorite song: “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor.

Favorite website: YouTube. “I like to watch my Taekwondo fighting videos online.”

Favorite TV show: The Walking Dead. “The show is very cool and I enjoy the horror genre.”

Favorite Movie: “I like all types of martial arts movies. I can learn how they fight and I can study their techniques.”

Ambition: “I want to be a doctor because I would like to work in the medical field. My ambition for a side job is to open my own Taekwondo academy.”
