Cy-Fair, TX (September 23, 2015) - Warner Elementary School fourth-grade student Dylan Lee is an enthusiastic reader and writer who placed third in his school’s spelling bee last year. Lee is also an accomplished musician who has won awards for his prowess as a pianist, and enjoys athletics such as soccer and Taekwondo—a discipline in which he has earned a purple belt.
School: Warner Elementary School
Accomplishments: Straight-A honor roll GT student; won Warner School Spelling Bee competition and tied for third place at the District Spelling Bee competition in 2014; won the AR (accelerated reader) award in second and third grades; won third place in University of Houston piano (age 9 group) competition last year; acquired distinction in the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) piano examination; and holds a purple belt in Taekwondo.
Favorite class: Writing class. “I like the freedom to write and create anything in my imagination.”
Favorite things to do after class: Reading, playing piano and playing soccer with my brother and father.
Favorite song: Burn by Ellie Goulding
Favorite website: Encyclopedia Brittanica Kids. “It helps enhance my knowledge and I love learning new things.”
Favorite TV show: Celebrity Name Game. “It is hilarious and I love watching soccer games.”
Favorite movie: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. “It has obstacles that Harry has to overcome.”
Ambition: ”I want to attend Princeton University with a scholarship because it a highly renowned university. I want to succeed in life and be useful to the society. I want to achieve the black belt in Taekwondo.”
What topics/things are you passionate about? Soccer, reading, piano, board games and drawing.
What inspires you? “My parents, especially my mom, because she teaches me piano and helps me with school work. I also have to thank all my teachers.”
What three things can’t you live without? My family, books and music.
What are you most looking forward to this semester? Achieving the straight-A honor roll again in fourth grade; participating in the district spelling bee; colorful results in the STAAR test; AR award and being president of the fourth-grade student council.
