Cypress Falls High School senior wide receiver Jacorey Warrick was selected as the Sports Illustrated High School Player of the Week this week.
The 5-foot-10, 168-pound athlete is featured in an article and accompanying video that were posted on SI.com.
Prior to being ruled out for the season due to a torn meniscus he suffered during a game against Langham Creek, Warrick had accrued 28 receptions for 442 yards and seven touchdowns, as well as two rushing touchdowns and one special teams touchdown. He also accumulated 790 yards and 11 touchdowns on 36 receptions during his junior season in 2011.
Warrick, who has begun rehabilitation on his surgically-repaired knee, has committed to play football for the University of Texas Longhorns in 2013.
“I can’t express how much of a pleasure and an honor it is to coach Jacorey Warrick. He is one of the hardest-working and most humble young men I have been around,” says Cypress Falls head football coach Kirk Eaton. “It’s really appropriate that Sports Illustrated picked a player like him to be the High School Player of the Week.”
