Cypress Falls High School 2012 graduate Ramon (Ray) Hernandez III was selected by the College Board / Advanced Placement (AP) to be featured in its Studio Art 2012-13 poster for his 2-D Design Portfolio.
Hernandez was one of 15 students across the country featured among all categories and one of five featured for 2-D Design.
His artwork, entitled Millenia, was a 14-inch by 10 ½-inch piece designed in Adobe Illustrator.
“It is a tremendous honor to be chosen to be included on the AP Studio Art poster. Only five are selected out of the thousands of portfolios submitted, and these posters are distributed to every AP studio art student in the world,” says Cypress Falls visual arts department chair Kim Ross. “Ray texted me this summer and let me know he had been chosen and I was so excited for him. He worked very hard to get his portfolio completed in time for submissions, and all his hard work paid off—not only by receiving a 5 on his AP, but in being awarded the top honor.”
