Cy Lakes Boys’ Basketball Win District Title and Four Teams Start Postseason

Cypress, TX (February 17, 2016) The District 17-6A boys’ basketball season concluded on Feb. 16 with four teams qualifying for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) playoffs.

Cypress Lakes High School won the district championship with a 12-1 record, followed by co-runners-up Cypress Falls High School (11-2) and Cypress Ranch High School (11-2) and fourth-place Langham Creek High School (8-5).

The Region III-6A bi-district playoff pairings are as follows:

  • ·         Cypress Lakes will face Aldine Eisenhower on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Campbell Center (1865 Aldine Bender Road) in Aldine;
  • ·         Cypress Falls, which won the flip for the No. 2 seed, will meet Aldine High School on Feb. 23 at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529);
  • ·         Cypress Ranch will face Aldine Nimitz on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway); and
  • ·         Langham Creek will meet Aldine Davis on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at Cypress Springs High School (7909 Fry Road).

Tickets for all playoff games will be sold at the door for $5.
