Cy Ranch Basketball Player Looks to Score in Shoe Drive

Cypress, TX News (December 1,2015)  - Led by Cy Ranch senior basketball player Miles Simms, the Cy Ranch varsity basketball team has partnered with the Houston Methodist Cypress Hoops Invitational for the second year on a charitable program called Kicks for Kidz. Miles says, “There is still a need in the Cy-Fair community, especially around the holidays. I want to make this year’s drive even better!”

Kicks for Kidz and the Cy Ranch Varsity Basketball team of volunteers will collect like new or gently worn basketball and athletic shoes during the tournament and donate them to Cy-Hope. Cy-Hope is a Cypress based charitable organization that partners with area schools and offers a ministry of sustenance, mentoring, tutoring, volunteers and empowerment to long- term self-sufficiency.

In exchange for your shoe donation attendees of the Cypress Hoops Invitational may receive one free game day admission ticket. The Houston Methodist Cypress Hoops Invitational is a basketball tournament sponsored by the Cy-Fair Education Foundation. This is its sixth year of hosting the tournament. High school varsity basketball teams from across the state will compete for the championship December 10th through the 12th at Cy-Fair ISD gyms and the Berry Center.
