The Cy-Fair Express Network (CYFEN) of the American Business Women Association (ABWA) recently honored two outstanding women for their leadership, community involvement and career accomplishments.
Kathi Schmidt, executive director of Reach Unlimited, was recognized as CYFEN’s Woman of the Year, while Darlene Hajduk, president of ProLine Supply Company, was recognized as CYFEN’s Top Ten Business Woman of ABWA candidate and the Woman of Excellence.
Both winners are honored locally within the ABWA Express Network, citywide at a summer Houston Area Council of ABWA event and nationwide at the fall ABWA National Leadership Conference.
The ABWA Woman of the Year exemplifies participation in key areas of the ABWA mission – leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition. The Top Ten Business Woman of ABWA exemplifies the professionalism and excellence of ABWA with her career accomplishments, goal articulation, historical ABWA involvement, formal education and community involvement.
The Woman of Excellence exemplifies leadership, community involvement and career accomplishments and is a one-time only award. This winner is honored locally within the ABWA Express Network as well as citywide at the fall Federation of Houston Professional Women’s annual gala, which also raises scholarship money for the FHPW Education Foundation.
