Each year an outstanding elementary, middle school, and high school choir are invited to perform at the annual “Hear the Future” concert. The 2016 performance featured choirs from Parker Elementary School, Nolan Ryan Junior High School, and Cypress Ranch High School in a one-of-a-kind event.

Following the individual school concert performances, the Houston Chamber Choir joined the scholastic choirs for a finale featuring the patriotic favorite, “America.”

“The Houston Chamber Choir and I are keenly aware of the vital role school choirs play in education. For 17 years, ‘Hear the Future’ has showcased the finest choirs in our area and celebrated the work of their gifted conductors,” said Robert Simpson, artistic director for the Houston Chamber Choir. “The Cypress Ranch Chorale, under the direction of Cynthia Douglas, is certainly one of Houston’s finest, and it was a great pleasure to have them participate in this year’s festival.”

“Chorale was so honored to be invited to perform with the Houston Chamber Choir, and we are so very proud of them,” said Cypress Ranch Choir Director Cynthia Douglas. “To be featured with such excellent choirs was truly special, and I know the students will always remember it.”
