Cypress, TX News (May 23, 2014) - Players at the 26th annual B.F. Adam Classic Golf Tournament were treated to blue skies and green fairways this year, and the tournament was a rousing success.

Jerry Ashmore and Brent Abshire, co-chairmen of the 2014 B.F. Adam Classic Golf Tournament committee, said it was their goal was to make sure that the golf fund-raising event brought in more funding than ever for student scholarships.

They succeeded. More than $110,000 was raised this year for student scholarships.

CFEF has been holding the B.F. Adam Classic for 26 years. It is known as one of the largest non-celebrity charity golf tournaments in Houston. B.F. (Bernard Fred) Adam was a lifelong Cy-Fair resident and a devoted school board member, serving 24 years on the board. B.F. Adam Elementary on Honey Grove Lane is named in his honor.

This year’s B.F. Adam Golf Classic is just one example of our trustees and the business partners in our community working together to raise a record amount for the students of Cy-Fair ISD. We look forward to next year’s tournament which will be held once again at the beautiful Black Horse Golf Club on May 14, 2015.
