Cypress, TX News – Cy-Fair Community Group Involved In $1.2 Billion Bond Election

Cypress, TX News (March 24, 2014) – “Say YES for CFISD Kids!” will kick off its advocacy campaign this Thursday, March 27 at Lone Star College – Cy-Fair campus from 6 to 8 p.m. in the student cafeteria. This bond will go to the Cy-Fair community for the vote on May 10, 2014, which was approved by the CFISD Board of Trustees in late February.

The Bond has been approved for $1.2 billion and will support improvements in four major areas of concern in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. They are as follows:

•Safety and security

•Transportation improvements (including reinstating bus service within 2 miles of a campus)

•Technology upgrades for entire district

•Planned building for growth of district and remodeling of aged buildings (some over 40 years old)

As an organized group of community members, we are passionate about the success of our students in CFISD and the health of the entire Cy-Fair community. Community residents will only pay about $5 per month for the opportunity for our school district and kids to have these much needed improvements. Those community members paying taxes to CFISD, who are over 65, will not have an increase in their taxes, as their taxes are frozen at the age of 65.
