Cypress, TX News – Cy-Fair ISD Earns New Top Leadership Circle Designation

Cypress, TX News (August 4, 2014) – The Office of Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller for Public Accounts, awarded Cypress-Fairbanks ISD with its new elite-level status, “Platinum,” in the fifth annual Leadership Circle Awards.

CFISD had earned the previous-highest designation of “Gold” in the Leadership Circle Awards from 2009-2013.

Through the Leadership Circle Award, the Comptroller’s office spotlights local governments that have opened their books to the public in order to provide clarity of spending and share information in a user-friendly format that provides taxpayers with easy access to information.

The Texas Comptroller announced in 2014 that the Leadership Circle program is spotlighting entities that meet an even higher standard of financial transparency with the Platinum Award, which spotlights entities that go above and beyond providing financial transparency. Other award levels are “Gold,” “Silver” and “Bronze.”

CFISD earned 21 of the 22 possible points on the Comptroller’s ratings criteria to earn the “Platinum” designation.
