Cypress, TX News – Cypress Woods Staff Treat Bus Drivers on Last Day of School

Cypress, TX News (June 17, 2014) - Cypress Woods High School staff members celebrated their dedicated and hard-working bus drivers on the last day of school by providing Bahama Buck’s shaved ice snow cones for each driver.

Assistant principal Lisa Bergeron provided almost 30 snow cones in three different flavors for the drivers as an end-of-the-year “thank you.” In past years, the Wildcat staff have given popsicles, water bottles, and mugs made from tech class students as a way to show their appreciation.

“Believe it or not, bus duty is one of my favorite and important times of the day,” Bergeron said. “I volunteer every year to do the afternoon bus duty. As our ‘rolling classrooms’ leave, the drivers and I either wave or we have a ‘special’ wave, thumbs-up, salute, etc. I enjoying talking with our drivers; they are our eyes and ears before and after school. They have a huge responsibility in getting our kids to and from school safely.”

Bergeron said that the staff also treats the drivers around the holidays, providing treats such as cake balls and ornaments.

“We always want to let them know that we appreciate them and trust them to our Wildcats,” Bergeron said.
