Cypress, TX News – Graduating Seniors Appointed to Service Academies

Cypress, TX News (June 9, 2014) - Four graduating seniors from CFISD have received appointments to attend United States service academies.

Cy-Fair High School graduate Robyn Dyson was appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. Fellow Cy-Fair graduate Benson Errington was appointed to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. A third Cy-Fair graduate, Kristen McPeek, was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.

Cy-Fair senior Robyn Dyson was appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy.

“Cy-Fair High School is extremely proud of these three accomplished students; they have all shown strong athletic ability, high academic achievement and superior leadership skills,” said Cy-Fair principal Mike Smith. “These outstanding characteristics are the foundation that helped them achieve this appointment. I am confident that with their abilities and work ethic they will experience tremendous success in life.”

Cy-Fair senior Benson Errington was appointed to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Cypress Woods High School graduate Cameron Wright was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy.

“I really enjoyed having Cameron in my class,” said Cypress Woods AP Macroeconomics teacher Emily Tate. “Not only is he intelligent and works hard, he is a joy to teach. He is kind and has a maturity that surpasses many of his classmates.”

Cypress Woods senior Cameron Wright was appointed to the U.S. Military Academy.

Cypress Woods principal Gary Kinninger also voiced support for Wright’s appointment: “Cypress Woods is so proud to have another Wildcat receive an appointment to the academy. Cameron is a great representative of our 212 spirit.”
