Cypress, TX News-Statement Issued on Possible Ebola Patient

Cypress, TX News (October 8, 2014) – In response to recent reports of a possible case of Ebola in the Cy-Fair area, a spokesperson for North Cypress Medical Center issued this statement:

“Patient was carefully evaluated for any signs and symptoms of EBOLA over the past 24 hours at North Cypress Medical Center. During that period of time he has remained without fever and his clinical condition has normalized. In an abundance of caution the patient was isolated and EBOLA type precautions were followed at the hospital. The Harris County Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control feel that the patient’s clinical condition and course does not indicate an EBOLA infection and have declined to test the patient. The patient has been discharged in excellent condition and will have further follow-up with his local doctor as an outpatient.”
