Carol Brushwood of Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum (CWJF) presented Lauren Black, Associate Executive Director of Reach Unlimited, with a check for $1,800. This donation will be used to purchase iPads and the software to enable them to be used as voice output devices.
These cost-effective aids are a fraction of the cost of other similar systems and will give voice to the more than 100 clients at the Reach Unlimited Learning Activity Center that have speech challenges. Client Cullen, who has cerebral palsy and no verbal speech, will be able to communicate what he wants, thinks and feels with this new tool.
Reach Unlimited, a non-profit agency, is the most comprehensive provider of quality support services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the greater Houston northwest. To donate, visit www.reachunlimited.org.
