The Choral Festival, supported by a grant from nonprofit organization Cy-Hope, is free and open to the public.

To prepare for the event, campus teachers have attended several after-school sessions with this year’s selected director, Kammi Estelle, head choral director at Kahla Middle School. After the sessions, teachers return to their individual campuses and work with the small groups.

The 300-plus students will meet together for one combined rehearsal on the afternoon of the event.

“I am especially excited about the 2016 Choral Festival,” said Loretta Bourn, district elementary music coordinator. “Students and music teachers have worked hard to prepare for this concert, and we appreciate the support of campus and district leadership–as well as Cy-Hope.  Cy-Hope has offered ongoing support for the Choral Festival project for the past four years.”
