Football Players Named Scholar-athlete Award Finalists

Two Cy-Fair ISD football players are among 25 finalists for the Touchdown Club of Houston High School Football Scholar-Athlete Award. The award will be presented during the 14th Annual High School Football Scholar-Athlete Luncheon.

Cypress Ranch High School senior Jeffrey Hensley and Langham Creek High School senior Jared Ross are Cy-Fair ISD’s two finalists for the honor.

Nominees are required to be high school seniors, have the best grade-point averages on their respective football teams and have good citizenship, as embodied in extra-curricular activities.

The first-place award winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship to the college or university of his choice, while the second- and third-place award recipients will receive a $1,000 and $750 scholarship, respectively. The remaining 22 finalists will receive a $500 scholarship.
