The Actors Academy Performance Team won a Gold Award in the tap category with its performance of “Walk This Way” and a Gold Award in the musical theatre category with its performance of “Showstopper’s Medley.”

Taylor Hall’s solo “Freak on a Leash”  and Hope Harris and Jean Furter’s duet “Shake It Out” won Gold Awards in the contemporary category.  Jessie Brownie and Jacob Major’s duet “Sing, Sing, Sing” won an Elite Gold Award in the jazz category and 5th place in the National Seniors Category. Maddie Dennison and Raegan Roberts’ duet “Ruby Blue” won a Gold Award in the jazz category. Hope Harris, Taylor Hall and Ashlynn Maddox’s trio “Mama, I’m A Big Girl Now” won an Elite Gold Award in musical theatre, 3rd place in the National Seniors Category and the special “Broadway Bound” Judges Award.

“We are thrilled to have our Academy students recognized nationally,” says Linda Jacobs, Managing Director of HFAC’s Actors Academy. “All of our students are triple threat competitors – they act, sing and dance. We started the Performance Team to give them an opportunity to compete with the top performers in the nation, and in the first year of competition they have won both regional and national awards!”
