Honor choirs present free community concerts

Cy-Fair, TX (January 23, 2016) The Langham Creek High School a cappella choir and Cypress Woods High School varsity mixed choir were selected last year as Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Honor Choirs, and will present a series of local performances before their 2016 Honor Performance in San Antonio, Feb. 10-13.

“It’s very rare for a school district to have a choir selected to perform at this statewide music educators event, and CFISD will have two campuses represented,” said John Morrison, coordinator of secondary music. “This recognition for CFISD speaks volumes to the high standards for performance excellence from all of our campus choir teachers.”

The CFISD community is invited to hear the student musicians locally at one of the following free public concerts:

  • Langham Creek High School – Jan. 26, 7 p.m., Langham Creek auditorium (17610 FM 529);
  • Cypress Woods High School – Jan. 26, 7 p.m. Cypress Woods auditorium (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd.); and
  • Langham Creek and Cypress Woods combined concert – Feb. 2, 7 p.m., The Foundry United Methodist Church (8350 Jones Road).
