Langham Creek High School senior Skylar Ross-Ransom was selected to the USA Today 2012 All-USA girls’ track and field team.
Ross-Ransom was one of 52 female athletes and one of 10 female hurdlers in the country selected to the team.
Criteria included ranking on the USA Today and Track and Field News national lists, the number of top performances and head-to-head competitions. Ross-Ransom was listed with her top 100-meter hurdles time of 13.59 seconds.
“Skylar is such a phenomenal young lady and athlete who has very high expectations for herself as well as her teammates. It is such an honor to assist in her training at Langham Creek,” says head track and field coach Ellen Robinson. “She has the drive and determination to be a great world-class competitor and I believe she will be one of Cy-Fair ISD’s most outstanding athletes—possibly competing, one day, in the Olympics.”
Ross-Ransom won gold medals in both the 100-meter hurdles at the New Balance Outdoor Track and Field Championships and the USA Track and Field Youth Outdoor Championships. She was the UIL state champion in the event during the State Track and Field Championships.
