New Boardwalk in Progress for Towne Lake Residents

Cypress, TX News (July 30, 2015)  - Caldwell Cos. has revealed its vision for The Boardwalk at Towne Lake, a new mixed-use project northwest of Houston where residents can drive their motorboats to work, shop and eat.

The Boardwalk will feature a marina with several docks for resident boats and boat taxis, as well as four large buildings with 150,000 square feet of shops, offices and patio restaurants. Tenants have not been announced yet. The project, which is under construction, is expected to open in spring 2016.

The Boardwalk is part of a larger mixed-use development along the western boundary of Towne Lake, which will feature:

  • A Kroger Marketplace, a 124,000-square-foot grocery store that opened in August 2014.
  • An office park, featuring two 36,000-square-foot office buildings and a medical clinic that is under construction
  • Arium Towne Lake, a 366-unit multifamily project that opened a couple of years ago
  • A 90-bed senior living facility that is under construction
  • A lakehouse with waterpark and lazy river
  • A lakeside pavilion with a 1,500-seat amphitheater
  • Boutique hotel with lakeside pool and bar
  • Plans for future cottage homes and townhomes

The Boardwalk is the first mixed-use development in Towne Lake, a 2,400-acre master-planned community anchored by a 300-acre lake. About 3,000 homes are planned for the community, located just south of U.S. Highway 290 and west of Barker Cypress Road. Residents are zoned to Cy-Fair Independent School District.
