Schools earn Texas Honors Circle Awards

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and 30 of its schools were honored as recipients of the Texas Comptroller’s 2012 Texas Honors Circle Award, recognizing schools and districts that are achieving academic success through cost-effective operations. Award recipients achieved strong academic performance while spending relatively little compared to their peers.

Only 329 school campuses statewide received this distinction for high rankings in the 2012 Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST), meaning Cy-Fair ISD accounted for 9.1 percent of all Honors Circle campuses statewide and was one of only 43 Texas districts to earn the five-star rating from the office of Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller, for academic and financial performance. A five-star rating reflects the strongest relative academic progress combined with the lowest relative spending.

Elementary campuses receiving the award achieved a five-star FAST rating, while middle and high-school campuses tapped for the honor achieved at least a 4.5-star FAST rating.

The following CFISD schools were recognized in the Texas Honors Circle: Adam Elementary School, Andre’ Elementary School, Ault Elementary School, Bang Elementary School, Birkes Elementary School, Black Elementary School, Copeland Elementary School, Danish Elementary School, Duryea Elementary School, Farney Elementary School, Gleason Elementary School, Hairgrove Elementary School, Hamilton Elementary School, Keith Elementary School, Lee Elementary School, Lowery Elementary School, Matzke Elementary School, McFee Elementary School, Millsap Elementary School, Moore Elementary School, Owens Elementary School, Post Elementary School, Postma Elementary School, A.
