Softball Playoffs Continue for Three Cy-Fair ISD Teams

Cypress, TX (May 3, 2016) Three Cy-Fair ISD softball teams won their Region III-6A bi-district playoff games last week to advance to the area playoffs this week.

Cypress Woods defeated Northbrook, 17-0, on April 28 at Cypress Woods. The Wildcats advance to face Mayde Creek in a best-of-three series:

  • Game 1 will be May 6 at 6 p.m. at Cypress Woods (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd.);
  • Game 2 will be May 7 at 11 a.m. at Mayde Creek (19202 Groeschke Road); and
  • Game 3, if necessary, will be 30 minutes after Game 2.

Cypress Ranch beat Aldine Nimitz, 14-0, on April 28 at the Aldine ISD softball complex. The Mustangs will face Bellaire in a best-of-three series:

  • Game 1 will be May 6 at 7 p.m. at Cypress Ranch (10700 Fry Road);
  • Game 2 will be May 7 at 4 p.m. at Butler Stadium (13755 Main Street); and
  • Game 3, if necessary, will be 30 minutes after Game 2.

Cy-Fair beat Aldine MacArthur, 5-1, on April 28 at the Aldine ISD softball complex. The Bobcats will face Katy in a best-of-three series:

  • Game 1 will be May 6 at 7 p.m. at Katy High School (6331 Hwy. Blvd.);
  • Game 2 will be May 7 at 3 p.m. at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway); and
  • Game 3, if necessary, will be May 7 at 5 p.m. at Cy-Fair.

Tickets for all games will be sold for $5 apiece at the gate (students and adults).

In other softball action, Cypress Lakes lost a best-of-three series to Spring Branch Memorial to end its season. The Spartans finished as the fourth-place finishers in District 17-6A and bi-district playoff finalists.
