Tipps Elementary Gets Grant for Document Cameras

Members of the Houston CPA Society gave a $1,052 grant to Tipps Elementary School on Friday through the CPAs Helping Schools program to allow the school to purchase new document cameras.

Tipps math instructional specialist Dorothy Windham wrote a grant proposal to the Houston CPA Society in January expressing the need for document cameras. The school previously shared two document cameras among all staff members.

The Houston CPA Society awarded Tipps the grant in February, funding the purchase of four additional document cameras.

Sandra Sena, co-chair of the CPAs Helping Schools committee, and Carol Spencer, Houston CPA Society member services coordinator, delivered a check to Windham and Tipps principal Pam Redd at the school on Friday.

“The document cameras will be used daily in classrooms with students, as well as for enhancing professional development for staff and showcasing student work during parent meetings and event nights,” Windham said. “We are grateful for the Houston CPA Society grant and the success it will bring for Tipps Elementary.”
