RYHT has sponsored more than 900 principals to attend Harvard in the eight years of the program. The organization covers all expenses for those selected, including tuition fees, travel, hotel and other discretionary funding – an average of about $7,500 per attendee.

Attendees will join campus leaders from around the globe in one of six institutes, and engage in training and workshops led by national and international experts in the fields of education and leadership. Dr. Martinez will participate in the July 10-16 session, Leadership: An Evolving Vision.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity Raise Your Hand Texas is providing in letting me attend the Harvard Principal Institute this summer,” Dr. Martinez said. “Everything I have heard and read about the Harvard program from colleagues is that it is the best professional development for principals presented. The chance to interact and learn from other principals from across the country/world along with the top experts in the educational and leadership fields and, to be able to bring that learning back to Watkins and CFISD, is exciting. I look forward to learning much and applying even more for our community and students with this valuable experience.”
